For those of you who live in an area where there is weak or no Verizon coverage (between cell towers for example, or as in my case, in the shadow of Stone Mountain) and you have high speed internet (broadband). You can hook up a device called a Wireless Network Extender to your broadband connection and it creates a Verizon coverage area that you can use for your Verizon cell phone or Blackberry within your home.
Details are at http://www.verizonwireless.com/b2c/store/accessory?action=gotoFemtocell or search on Verizon.com for “Verizon Wireless Network Extender”. Up to three people can use it at the same time (there is a fourth channel but it is reserved for 911/emergency calls). The device needs to be near a window (so it can get GPS info) and connected to your broadband connection.
